#Where'stheFairUse?
Doug Walker, aka the Nostalgia Critic who remembers it so you don't have to, posted a very important video on Feb. 16 about Fair Use violations that are not just being carried out against his production company to make reviews and their own content on movies, TV shows, and pop culture in general but by many content creators across YouTube.
Now the creators on YouTube and bloggers such as myself run different forms of media bringing content in different ways but we get paid by the same company through the same means: Google's AdSense. And to see them not just unable to upload their content and the frustration they go through as companies continue to make claims and strikes against them makes me feel frustrated and upset just as much. Not only that but the companies that make these claims and strikes receive the content creator's revenue they should have made on the videos being unlawfully claimed and striked against.
Doug says it all in his video and I don't think anyone can tell it better other than to add their own stories and frustrations. Below is not just Doug's video but also several content creators that are tired of being robbed and punished for it.
Help spread the word and ask #Where'sTheFairUse?

Playing SWTOR
I love Star Wars. Who doesn't? What do I love more than Star Wars? Star Wars: The Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2.
"But Ronin," you say, "they're the same thing."
No. No they are not.
Let me explain.
As most of us I grew up watching the Star Wars movies on VHS, ah the 90's a simpler, better time that by the mercy of whatever faith you believe in will never come back, wishing and pretending to be a Jedi or a smuggler like Luke and Han.
However, as I grew up and gained the ability to analyze story and characters I found myself like the movie 'verse less and less. Especially after episodes 1-3. I won't lie though, I was 8 or 9 when Phantom Menace came out so Jar-Jar was funny to me back then and because of that I didn't see a problem with him. I was a kid guys, a lot of us were, Jar-Jar is funny to kids. Now-a-days though I want to kill the damn Gungan. Screw it, genocide for the whole Gungan race.
Refocusing, I realized that the story of Star Wars is really the tail-end of a much greater and grander story. The story of the fight between good and evil, the Jedi and the Sith. In the movies we never truly get to see the struggles between the two orders of the Force. We only see the remnants trying to at last wipe the other out. That is the truth about the movies. They are the ending to a much greater story. Which leads us to many questions.
Why is there only ever two Sith: A master and an apprentice.
How could the Jedi's to foresee the future been diminished that they couldn't even sense a Sith Lord two feet from them?
How did the Jedi wipe out the Sith to near extinction?
Who the hell came up with the prophecy about a chosen one that will bring balance to the force and just what exactly does it say?
There's so many questions that Lucas Films never answer.
And that's where Bioware's 2003 Star Wars: Knight's of the Old Republic comes in.
For the first time we go back two thousand years, originally four thousand, to a time of civil unrest where it is not the Jedi that is prevalent but the Sith. A time where not only were the Jedi and the Republic about to fall but to a time where the Jedi were becoming Sith themselves, giving into their emotion and desires.
Now that's a story line.
I won't go into full detail about the games as we'll be here a very long time but I love these games more than what brought me into the greatest saga ever told. Because I'm not just viewing a story a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... no I'm living it. The games are about my choices, my decisions that have consequences that can change the outcome of the story. I get to know my companions learn of their past, their pain, their joy in such greater detail than a two hour movie could ever manage.
Plus it's just a better story overall.
The story of Revan, I will never forget. Because the story of Revan isn't just someone else's story. It's my story, your story. How could the movies ever compete with that?
Yes the Star Wars films are timeless and are a cornerstone in cinema history but there's a greater galaxy to explore and know than what the films want to show you.
If you ever find yourself with the time I suggest looking into the SWTOR franchise and all of the expanded universe as you'll discover a grander story than that of a whiny brat from Tatooine and his whiny brat of a son.
Until next time,
The Revolutionary Ronin
P.S. Don't take all that I said to heart. I do love the movies very much and many of the characters that exist in them and that I am NOT hating on anyone that loves the films. This is just my own personal opinion and criticism over the films and games. And yes I do have flaws with the games on a more mechanical level with game play. Never get me start on stunning in PvP. You don't want that rant.
